Since the revolution in January 2011, tourism in Egypt has never been the same again. Though it got a lot better than the first few months, it is still only a small fraction of what it used to be. This has left the Egyptian economy unbalanced. The thing about the tourism is that it is felt straight away by anyone that works in the industry, from the big travel and tour companies that suddenly have no reservations and all the way down to the touts around the pyramids selling camel rides and the young kids selling their souvenirs!
Since the revolution, scams around the pyramids were getting worse; and for the touts that get their day to day money from selling camel rides to tourists around the pyramids, they have one of two options, either try to scam one of the few tourists, or do as this old man, sit and let the camel graze!
