Can you believe it?? Two years? TWO YEARS! It’s been two years since I took the step of writing my first post! WOW! 154 posts later, I am still going on! Ask me about it two years ago and I would have said it is just something I’ll do for a while and get bored, like everything else!
Again, I’m so random with this post, I have no planning what so ever with where to go with it, just many thoughts swimming around in my head and I have no idea how to relate them or write them down. One of them is that I am writing this post while I am supposed to be working on an essay for my university, but come on…an anniversary is an anniversary, whether I am on holiday or a couple of weeks away from my deadlines, my blog deserves a few hours of celebration! Especially when I know I haven’t been doing it good the past few weeks, being a bit inconsistent with posting.
Which brings me to my second thought…(HA! I connected them – kind of), last year, I wrote my first anniversary post from Indonesia, and a few days after posting it I went to Gili Air and celebrated Christmas and New Year’s Eve on a warm tropical beach. This year’s anniversary post comes to you from another corner of the world, the United Kingdom! As long as one year is, when I come to think of it this way, my life does sound exciting!
Many ups and downs have happened in between those two posts, but in the end, now I am in North East England, studying a post graduate degree, hoping and looking forward for a different future, still having traveling and this blog as a big part of my life, at every chance given, and a bit more (otherwise there is no explanation for being broken even though I’m juggling 2 part time jobs – and this blog – besides studying!)
Some Bloggish Statistics to make me feel good
The most viewed blog post since last year is “20 things that show you have stayed too long in Indonesia” - Speaking after spending almost 5 months in Indonesia, what are the cultural and lingual habits that I have noticed and even started doing some of them myself!
The least viewed post the past year is “One day in Edinburgh” – Speaking of my one day trip to Scotland, visiting the northern extremes (with respect to where I am from) in winter!!
My favorite 5 posts of the past year:
Explaining the ‘activities’ which are done on a regular day in Gili Air. They aren’t much of activities, it really is a lazy island that is perfect for relaxing!
A list if things you should expect and not expect when visiting Indonesia based on my personal experience in Indonesia for 5 months
After returning from a 6 months trip, I was broke, feeling confused, and in need for a new adventure! I rant about traveling and money, from my point of view
My experience (or my friend’s experience to be more specific) with karma! An unforgettable experience and a lesson well learnt!
Those beautiful photos are not exactly mine, my friend took them while we were in Dahab together, and I used them – as I didn’t have my camera – to explain what happens on a normal day in Dahab. I just noticed I do this same post with places I really like for no specific reason, I just try to explain the daily activities and try to make you live there through my words…poetic huh? :P
Anyway, now the words I have to say, and I really mean them, again, THANK YOU! Someday I’ll Be There wouldn’t have reached what it is now without you, please continue supporting, reading, commenting, emailing, whatever it is you do to stay in touch with me, keep doing it! I love it! And if I am ever late with replying sometimes, please excuse me.
